Linking Learning to "Real Life" Experiences

What We Do

EmpowHer Institute is a non-profit organization serving low and moderate-income females to develop their entrepreneurial skills.    Recognizing the high school dropout rates for girls, EmpowHer brings focus on girls  by offering training and development in entrepreneurship to empower females to achieve economic freedom thru its Building Entrepreneur Skills for Tomorrow (BEST) program.

EmpowHer is a licensed partner participating in the Network for Training Entrepreneurs (NFTE) program. EmpowHer Institute provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities using a proven curriculum developed by Network for Training Entrepreneurs (NFTE).

The strategy for achieving this mission is to: partner with schools, community-based organizations and entrepreneurs; create innovative, experiential curricula; train and support teachers and youth workers; and provide supportive mentors.

Building Entrepreneur Skills for Tomorrow (BEST) is to provide early intervention and prevention programs to reduce the dropout rate of females in middle and high school girls through teaching entrepreneurial skills to youth in grades 9-12 who are at risk of educational failure, teen pregnancy, truancy and juvenile delinquency.

In addition, EmpowHer Institute offers training in personal development, business planning, marketing, leadership and technology to create business opportunities for girls and women using business people as facilitators.
